This is going to be the most thorough, up to date, Doterra review you will find online. This is because I have had a life altering event, which forced me to not only dig deeper into what DoTerra is truly about, but into the network marketing industry as a whole. For right now I will tell you that I am one eye short of a duo. Due to this I truly had to re-evaluate my life and my families situation. I only have one years worth of long term disability, and it was time to make a decision. To do so I dove deep, and I researched everything inside and out about DoTerra. This is what I found and I put these findings into this DoTerra Review-

I will let you decide, but here are the facts. DoTerra is an outstanding company established in Orem, Utah on January 30, 2008; and since then they have received an A- rating from the BBB. Beyond that DoTerra has a solid well organized leadership team, and provide amazing products that give people a quality alternative to modern medicine. Don’t get me wrong, I know modern medicine has blessed the lives billions of people, but its clearly being abused. Take my wife for example. She had a baby and she tore during delivery. This is not uncommon, but I can only image how painful that is. The doctor did a great job, and gave her 30 vicodin to take home with her. She used 4 pills total for the pain over the next 8 days. 26 pills is a lot of narcotics left over. Is it any wonder people get addicted to this stuff?

Our DoTerra Review determined that just because DoTerra’s leadership team chose to market through an at home business model does not make them a scam.

Yet how is that possible when 97% of DoTerra Reps Spend THOUSANDS more than they bring in? That means only a meager 3% of DoTerra reps are successful? That sounds pretty low, but oddly enough that is the network marketing industry standard. 3% still seems pretty low though, and what I found was the 97% of DoTerra reps do these same five deadly mistakes that are keeping them from making their DoTerra business successful.

To be honest this right here is why so many people feel that DoTerra is a scam. Yet that is because it “LOOKS” super simple, and its not. A normal rep, who is apart of the 97% who fail will tell you, “All you have to do is sign up 3 people who so the same, and have them do the same, then have this repeated 7 times and you’ll be making over 30k per month”. Just look at this-

This is all true, but saying its “EASY” is a BOLD FACE LIE! The truth is, DoTerra’s compensation plan is very simple and pleasing to the eye, but takes a lot of hard work, leadership, and dedication is necessary to reach the highest levels of this company. Don’t believe anyone who tells you otherwise.

But guess what? DoTerra is a business, not a get rich quick scheme…

Here are the basics to how a DoTerra rep gets paid. There are 5 ways DoTerra pays their reps which are-

1. Retail Profits of 25% of retail sale price (Paid Monthly)
2. Fast Start Bonuses (20%, 10%, and 5$ paid on 3 levels Weekly)
3. Power of 3 Team Bonuses – which is the purple number in the picture above (Paid Monthly)
4. Uni-level Compensation on 7 levels (Paid Monthly)
5. Leadership Pools (Paid Monthly)

Simply put a DoTerra rep gets paid on their efforts, and the efforts of their team members up to 7 levels below them. Which is an amazing way to leverage your time and efforts.

During the research for this DoTerra Review I found that DoTerra has a total of 12 ranks within their compensation structure. ranging from Consultant to Presidential Diamond. The ranks of executive, elite, and premier is where a Doterra rep begins to make more money than they are spending; depending on how they structure their business. What is required of a DoTerra rep to be eligible for their full composition is called their Loyalty Rewards Program (LRP). Most people would know this as their monthly required auto-ship. DoTerra requires 100 points to be ordered by their reps monthly wchich comes out to roughly $150, tax and shipping included. It is called Loyalty Rewards because DoTerra credits you back up to 30% of your points, and puts them into an account that you can use to order products in the future while only paying for the shipping. It takes 13 months of continuous 100 point months on the LRP to earn the full 30%. This is very unique, and used as an incentive to keep DoTerra reps on their auto-ships. This also allows each DoTerra rep to receive up to 55% off the retail cost of Doterra’s essential oils, which is also unheard of in the network marketing industry.

DoTerra’s essential oils do what they promise, and  the LRP incentives are obviously working well, because DoTerra has a 65% retention rate. Just to put this in perspective, the average retention rate in the network marketing industry is roughly 20%.

Now this was the full DoTerra review on the company, but this is what you have all been waiting for. If DoTerra is so great, then what causes 97% of DoTerra Reps to Spend THOUSANDS more than they bring in?

By now you can see that DoTerra is a solid company, with an amazing and unique product line, which has one of the strongest compensation plans available, and plentiful opportunity for a motivated individual to make 7-8 figures per year…

How is it possible that tens of thousands of DoTerra reps are struggling to make even $10 per week, even though DoTerra is going to be a Billion dollar company in less than 4 years from when it was started?

Through much research I have found that there are 5 deadly mistakes that cause 97% of DoTerra reps to fail, and lose thousands more than they bring in. Those 5 deadly mistakes are:

1. They are not Branding Themselves (Attraction Marketing)
2. They are Given ANY REAL Marketing Training
3. They do Not have Enough People to Talk to

Now I will briefly cover each one of these

1- They are not Branding Themselves (Attraction Marketing)

Did you notice that in those top 5 things the company, the products, and the compensation plan were not there? These are the 3 things that all network marketing companies teach, including DoTerra. Why is that? Well, its easy. That’s why. Any numbskull can go out and read a compensation plan and let their buddies try their product, while telling them they are going to be rich in the next 2 weeks.

During this DoTerra Review I found Network Marketings Best Kept Secret. That secret is, NO one wants to be apart of your  DoTerra business. People don’t buy into the DoTerra business model, THEY BUY INTO YOU and your leadership. 97% of the DoTerra reps are not trained how to be leaders, so their confidence as a leader is non-existant. This comes across whenever they open their mouth about DoTerra. This one fact shocked me as I wrote this DoTerra Review. 

Why is that? Think about it. Most of the people you know have little to no professional sales experience, even less marketing skills, and no posture. This is a recipe for disaster. People will only do business with people they KNOW, LIKE, AND TRUST. Thats it.

Your best option is to connect with a mentor who can teach you the skills necessary to be in the Network Marketing industry. So go out there, find a mentor, get to know more people, get them to like you, and get them to trust you. Basically, you need to increase your sphere of influence. Any good mentor can teach you all this and more, if you are willing to be taught.

DoTerra is a great company, but the majority of people who join DoTerra don’t join because of the product, comp plan, or the founders… it is because they found a LEADER they felt they could benefit from. This LEADER is someone they were attracted to, they learned to trust, and they wanted to get into business with THEM, NOT DOTERRA! (this is Attraction Marketing in motion and is the secret to Ultimate DoTerra Success!).

Which leads me to Deadly Mistake #2 made by a vast majority of DoTerra Reps-

2- Not given ANY REAL marketing training

I want to say this so I’m very clear,

I AM NOT AGAINST OFFLINE MARKETING TACTICS!!! MANY MILLIONAIRES HAVE BEEN CREATED USING THEM, THEY WORK, AND THEY’RE AWESOME!

When I started in the network marketing industry, 5 companies and 5 years ago, I was told to list out at least 200 people and contact them and get them to a meeting. Once I ran out of those people, I was told to post fliers on cars, randomly talk to people everywhere I went, and just keep talking to people. After 6 months of this I found a new company, with a new product, or compensation plan, and guess what? I was told to do the exact same thing, and I did it. Talk about doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

It did not take long for my family and friends to stop answering my phone calls and facebook messages.

This is the quality of “MARKETING” we all get as brand new network marketers!

Whether Marketing ONLINE or OFFLINE, just imagine for a moment how much more enjoyable it would be if you understood how to market and how build a relationship first? What if you learned how to position yourself as a leader who holds real value? What if you could actually solve your prospect’s problems, wants, and needs instead of trying to pitch and sell them on why your product and company will solve all their problems, and why they should join your business after you just met them?!

This is extremely difficult to pull off and this is definitely is not  for everyone. To build a MASSIVE DOTERRA ORGANIZATION, wouldn’t you say it’s smarter to have multiple solutions in place so that you can have more of your team create more success? This is leveraging.

There endless ways to get people to talk you to both ONLINE AND OFFLINE that will greatly enhance the odds of you making money in this life-changing business.

Now, if you set yourself up properly, you will NEVER run out of people to talk to, period. That’s IF you can hang in the game long enough to make the big bucks, which leads me to deadly mistake #4-

4- They do have Not enough money to stay in the game

Let’s face it. Network marketing is a tough game at first. It’s new skills, new challenges, in a new industry, and it costs you money every month to play!

Just look at everything you have to pay for. Your autoship, training courses, the latest marketing strategies and more. The odds are greatly stacked against you especially if you’re just getting started, and your tight on cash!

What if you could learn how to make money off of EVERY single person you talked to regardless of whether or not they joined your business?

What if they were actually excited about whipping out their credit card so that they could buy trainings, resources, and tools from YOU. And guess what?
